Jim Hume, President

Jim Hume is a Senior Surety Underwriter for Safeco Surety working out of their offices in Aliso Viejo. A 16 year employee of Safeco, Jim started his surety career 6 years ago and has really enjoyed his transition into the industry. Prior to that, he spent 10 years in various manager positions in and around Safeco's Workers' Compensation Claims Department. Jim holds a degree in business from California State University Fullerton. A Southern California Native, Jim lives in Huntington Beach with his wife and two children.

Shaunna Burchfiel, Vice President

Shaunna is a Surety Account Manager at Risk Transfer Associates Insurance Agency, Inc., based in Corona. She began her surety career at RTA upon graduating from the University of San Diego with a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Business Administration. She has developed strong relationships with contractors and underwriters to facilitate the surety bond process. She continues to expand her understanding of the surety industry, and seeks to obtain the AFSB designation.

Scot Drake, Secretary/Treasurer

Scot Drake is a Surety Underwriter for NAS Surety Group working out of their offices in Orange, CA. Scot began his surety career 5 years ago and during his time in the industry has gained experience in both subdivision and contract underwriting. Scot graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a bachelor's degree in Economics and is actively pursuing his AFSB and CPCU designations.
